I wish all of you the very best of holidays, however you celebrate.

Trine was educating me a bit more about the ‘Nisser’ of Scandinavian lore, which the Korknisse pattern imitates. Apparently in times past one would leave out treats for the Nisse at the holidays, (i.e. rice pudding with extra sugar) so that they would bring good luck and keep the land well. Anger the Nisse, your farm might fail the next year.

Well, all I can say is I hope these little wee ones like the rum balls I made yesterday. 😉
