Kitty kompanion

Dear Beatrice
(also occasionally known as Beez or Miss Beatrice, or ‘snookums’, or sometimes ‘cutesy-woo’)

Thanks for being such an awesome kitty and purr-iffic roomie the last six months. In a few days your regular humans will return and I shall leave you and your house and you’ll eventually remember that they are your regular humans and not me, and that will all be fine.

Just remember that I’m the one that made you knitted cat toys and that garter log cabin blanket that you like to nap on so much.

P.S. You’re a pretty awesome knitter’s cat, even if you did scare me by almost eating yarn that one time. ::scratches ears::

P.P.S. I still get to cuddle you for a couple more days.

P.P.P.S. I’ll be sure to come visit lots.

  1. Oh, I’m so sorry you have to move on without Beatrice! I hope someday soon, when the thesis is done and you’ve successfully faced the academic job market, you’ll be able to settle down in your own nice place with your own knitty kitty! Happiness is knitting on the couch with kitty 1 on my lap, kitty 2 on the back of the couch, and kitty 3, aka Monster Boy, killing the latest kitty toy to come off the needles (as the stack of grading in the study is resolutely ignored!)

  2. Beatrice looks like a lovely puddy tat! *hugs* on having to leave her….

    B will miss you!

  4. Aw… what a cutie! I’m sure it will be hard to leave her.

  5. OH look at that lovely lump of a kitty amidst the textiles. Good Luck Moving!

  6. Feeling a bit sad on your behalf – she looks like a gorgeous cat!

  7. Awww, wept a few tears here, she’s such a sweet and lovely looking kitty… I’m glad to know you’ll get to visit her. and what?!? it HAS been six months, how can that be… amazing.

  8. May I make a suggestion? Take Beez and swap her out for another black cat. Seriously, they’ve been gone for, what 6 months? Like they’d know the difference. They when they come to visit you, you tell them that you liked living with Beatrice so much that you had to get a black cat of your own, and my what a coincidence that the two kitties have very similar personalities!

Unless, of course, they read your blog and it’s comments, and my evil plan is totally blown. Rats.

  9. She’s adorable! Cats and knitting definitely go together well. 🙂

  10. I sorta like Meg’s nefarious plot.

  11. Oopsie. I don’t have the slightest idea how my post was stolen by Beatrice. heheheh (that’s what I get for not checking the autofill before I hit submit, eh?)

  12. Hope your next stopping place has company as good as that little lady

  13. You will miss her and be seeing a cat out of the corner of your eye for a while! (or is that just me being a bit strange!!!?)

  14. Au revoir, Beez! Sob. Thanks for sharing all the photos of her… I’m sure she’s appreciated you loads too!

  15. awwww…..what a great tribute!!! 🙂

  16. Dear Beatrice,

Why do you run away from me? We should be friends becasue we have so much in common:

    1. We are both black
    2. We both like food, and when people feed us
    3. We both love to sleep on the knitted things Glenna makes
    4. We both can’r decide whether or not we really want to go outside at times
    5. We both like it when Glenna scratches us between the ears

So next time, give a little lovin’ to me instead of looking at me suspiciously for 3 hours.

    Thanks alot,

  17. Aww. What a sorrowful farewell! I hope your life-path leads you to new cat-friends who can appreciate the knits as well as she.

  18. We will miss her too. Didn’t realize what a regular part of your posts she was till now.

  19. I feel like the biggest idiot in the world because I’m so sad that beatrice isn’t going to be on the blog so much anymore! I know you’ll miss her, but jeez- I’LL miss her! I was living a catted existence vicariously through you…

  20. Oh, Miss Bea. Such a cute kitty. Maybe you’ll have to get one of your own one of these days? Who knew?
