Dear internet

Am having lovely time traipsing around San Francisco. Spent two days artistically wandering around museums, parks, and urban landscapes, appreciating all of it muchly and being mostly unplugged from the internet.

Today it turns out that two days of walking and artistic appreciation is my limit before I need a day of leisure and food and staring blankly at walls or perhaps a trashy novel, and will return to the appreciative artistic tourist life tomorrow.

Miss you all,
Hugs and kisses,

PS the Starbucks people think my name is actually Helena. That’s actually sort of too cool to get annoyed about.

PPS tomorrow I’m going to look at more yarn.

PPPS I know you’re all surprised.

  1. Very cool pictures!

  2. what (gorgeous) blue cowl is that you are wearing in foto ?

  3. So jealous. I love San Francisco. Enjoy! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Judy – that’s actually not a cowl but my Tibetan Dreams shawl! Pattern is by Sivia Harding in Knitter’s Book of Wool.

  5. I’m so glad you’re enjoying The City! I love it when people love my City. I’ll keep my eyes peeled for blue cowls as I wander around today.

  6. Make sure you go to Imagiknit in the Mission! ๐Ÿ˜€

  7. Looks like you’re having a great time. I totally understand the one day of sitting and vegging. Have fun looking at the local yarn shops!

Second the Imagiknit visit. Easy to get to by bus and it’s a fun space to explore. Enjoy the fog and cool air and then send some to the rest of us baking at 43 degrees C. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I see you are enjoying our summer weather. As a native San Franciscan, I’ve always had a hard time understanding why summer would mean someone doesn’t need wool sweaters.

Sounds like you’re having a great time! I think I’ve found a home for your Starbucks cup:

    Tee hee!

  11. Looks just gorgeous! San Francisco is a place I’ve been meaning to visit for a long time now.

  12. I know what you mean about Helena being too cool to get mad about. Someone I’d just met forgot my name and kept calling me Sophia one time. That was fun!

  13. I’m sitting her in sweltering Texas, now on our 37th day of over 100 temps so greatly envy your trip to where it’s cooler! San Francisco is a beautiful city.

  14. I just wrote about how the Starbucks baristas ALWAYS get my name wrong! Harumph! Oh well, as long as the liquids are hot!
