Briefly on a Monday

Another Monday is upon us, and despite all the sudden back-to-school whiffs of fall in the air, despite my strong leanings towards casting on approximately thirty seven cabled sweaters, man we still have ten days left in August. TEN DAYS. I shall cling to them before the fall frenzy is upon us. And this Monday brings another giveaway. Thanks to the all-knowing Random Number Generator, I’m pleased to announce the winner of the Stella Collection copy from last week’s post is…

Random number

Commenter number 58, or Ginny. Congratulations! And never fear everyone, I will be back with more giveaways come the fall. Meanwhile, I’ve been getting in more knitting time behind the scenes here, and plotting a new set of designs along with projects for myself. The sweatery thing I started with that lovely reddish Madelinetosh Tosh Merino DK is coming along and even has 2 sleeves and half of a back piece now, which is fantastic. I am considering knitting everything in this colour from now on, I love it.

I hope you all have a good start to your week! More from me soon, and keep some yarn close by as always.

  1. I don’t blame you, that yarn is absolutely luscious. Happy knitting!

  3. I love the colour. Would you share which colour it is? I really need to working knitting into my busy day. I miss knitting.

  4. That is a pretty color.

  5. Such pretty yarn! I’d knit in that color, too. In fact, I think I just did.
    Congrats to Ginny!

  6. First off, I agree that you should knit everything in that colour. Then post innumerable photos of it to be used as stress relief aids for people who love gorgeous reds.
Secondarily, what is the name of that colour? I could go back and look it up in previous posts, but I’m feeling especially lazy today…but I want to buy that colour and make myself a cabled cardigan with it….or knit a house out of it.

  7. Hee – Cecilia, it is the ‘sequoia’ colour, which is fabulous. I knitted socks from it last year and do not get tired of it!

  8. Ooooo! That yarn is beautiful! Have fun knitting with it!

  9. Genia Potter · ·

Wow, the yarn you are knitting looks nothing like the Sequoia online – isn’t it strange how monitors can mess with color?

  10. Congrats to the winner! And I just love-love-love that color. Might just seek down some Madelinetosh myself.

  11. I’m trying to finish up wips before I cast on for fall….yea keep you fingers crossed for me πŸ™‚

  12. Love that colour and thanks for the patterns! It totally brightened my day πŸ™‚

  13. LOL! Congratulations to Ginny although your post really gave me a momentary fear that I was losing my wits. I am also Ginny and could not remember for the life of me thinking my knitting was up to lace as of yet. Whew!

  14. I love that color too. I think I’d be tempted to knit everything in that color! πŸ˜‰

  15. Variegated cranberry is a fabulous yarn color. I’m so impressed with all the knitting you’ve managed to accomplish! I can barely get half a skein done each evening.

  16. Madelintosh colorways are to die for! Your knit looks incredible!
