Back in the saddle

I’ve kept myself busy with the yarn this past winter, but one downside of pursuing the big epic projects is that it does start to eat into project time that might otherwise be spent working on something else. Combined with learning a new day job I’ve found my creative well has been running a bit dry, and I’m dismayed with myself to look back on this winter and realized I haven’t completed a single sweater or made progress on any design project beyond sketches or ideas.

Well, no more of that. I’ve finally got a new sweater design on the needles this week and it feels great. It’s a simple little spring cardi and I look forward to seeing it take shape while my creative brain churns away on other things.

The yarn is Dragonfly Fibers Damsel, and I am loving it. It’s a sport weight superwash merino that feels great to work with, and has colour that could go for days.

Spring is in the air, but my personal sweater knitting season is kicking back into gear all the same. Looking forward to longer daylight hours as well as some new knits on the needles.

Happy knitting this almost-spring Tuesday!

Give yourself a break girl! Sketches and ideas are a good thing and, time for that is as important as production.
Gorgeous color on the yarn. Glad you mentioned it feels good. Generally, I stay away from super wash because it doesn’t feel good (while I’m knitting), though it certainly has a practical side. I use it often when knitting for children. Will have to give this one a try.

  2. Good luck with the new design! I am sure it will be lovely, lovely, lovely.

  3. pretty color and interesting sketch – can’t wait to see the result!

  4. Such a pretty blue. It’ll be perfect for spring.

  5. Can’t wait to see the finished design! I too have a bunch of ideas rambling around and a wicked case of startitis…..
